New Blogs

I know, I havent done a post at all in December and it is just about over.  Well I hope everyone had a great holiday season!!  I'm keeping this on super short because I just wanted to stop and give a short update.  First off, I've been on Etsy for about 3 1/2 months and got 25 sales.  I know thats not a lot, but for me that's good.  Don't get me wrong, I'd love more sales (hint, hint), but I am happy for the ones I did get.

Also, I have 2 new blogs coming that I'm hoping will do well.  The first one came from me always giving tips and advice to my family and friends, mostly about fashion and beauty things, but also about whatever.  So the first blog is called Ask Kelly.  It is pretty much the questions that I am asked and my responses to them.  I figured that I will always have something to write about, so that helps.  You'll also be able to email your own questions and have them answered.  It will probably be mostly fashion and beauty since thats most of the questions from my family.  I'm sure though that some other questions will pop up as well.

Now the next blog is going to be more of like an online journal.  My New Years goal (I don't like the word resolutions) is to lose a decent amount of weight.  I decided that I want to lose extra weight before trying to have a baby so I added a little bit more th what I already wanted to lose.  So this blog is going to be about my progress along with pictures, workout routines (whats working and whats not) and me keeping track of what I'm eating.  I would be great if other people are doing it along with me and I would gladly share their progress as well.  I'm already getting my parents and husband to do it.

Well I think that's it for now.  I got 6 days off work so check of my shop (http://www.kmdouglass.etsy.com/) for new items that I'll be posting.  Until December 31 everything is Buy 3, Get 1 FREE! and 25% off clearance items.  Once my blogs are up and running I will let everyone know the links.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Why I shouldn't drink coffee at 7 in the evening!

My husband and I moved into our house the middle of June 2010.  Since then our garage has become the resting place for everything we don't want to deal with.  I think every week I would say, "Oh I'm gonna clean it out soon".  That was a lie!  Well the other day I was running late for work and when I go to my car it is totally frosted!!  Since that means winter is coming and my car does NOT do well in the winter (I've been locked out and locked in my car along with having to hold the door shut while driving because the latch freezes or something) I had to get the garage cleaned out now.  So today I called my one grandma and her and I cleaned for hours and hours.  It still needs work ( my husband has stuff to go through, there Goodwill stuff, things that need to go to family members' houses), but I hope that by next week my garage will finally be done!

So after that ordeal, I decided that I really wanted coffee.  I got this pumpkin spice coffee from TJ Maxx one day (super good!).  I made a pot of that and started drinking since there was nothing else to do beside watch QVC and drink coffee.  Well a couple cups of coffee leads me to where I am now.  On my computer juggling between my blog, Twitter, Facebook and Etsy.  The plus side is that I did get a sale from being on tonight.  I also got some of my Etsy to-do list done ( 3 new items listed).

I will be back tomorrow with another post!

It's been too long!

It's been what feels like forever since I've posted anything!  So I was scheduled for the whole weekend plus Monday.  That's three 12 hour shifts in a row!  To add to my total exhaustion yesterday, we broke our record so I did not get home until midnight.  Then I had to be up this morning for a 9:30 doctor's trip.  :(

Anyway, now I get time to blog and tweet and all that other fun stuff.  I have so many updates to do.  We'll keep them short in sweet in no other then my favorite, bullets form, haha.

* I made a new Etsy treasury and I is actually getting noticed.  Check it out: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4cc47b4dd2e48eefdce71175/my-wishlist-tim-take-note?index=0&page=1#comments
FYI: Tim is my husband :)

* I was featured in a treasury.  It's my baby girl confetti.  Creativewithclay put a post in the forum about looking for fun pink items.  I sent her mine and she picked me, super exciting!  http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4cc51fff76606d91bda395e0/color-feature-of-the-week-pink

She also does a blog that deals with her color of the week.  I am also featured on there as well!

*  I was asked by thechristmascorner if I would like to be a part of her Etsy mini on her blog.  Uh of course I would!  I am also a part of her Christmas Give Away Extravaganza and becuase of that she is going to do a feature on me.

* There was a Sneak Attack! done on me yesterday evening.  I got eight sales and then one this morning!  It was awesome and really picked me up some when I found out at work.  Look here for info about what a Sneak Attack! is. http://www.handmademovement.com/

There is a feature on HandmadeBySandi's blog. http://www.sandists.com/WordPress/2010/10/a-new-sponsor/comment-page-1/#comment-3950

* I think that is all of my updates.

I'm working on some new Etsy items and hope to have atleast some posted today.  Make sure to check my shop to see what's new.  Although I'll probably write a post when I finish them.  There's a tornado warning right now so I have got to go and bring all my fall decorations inside so they don't blow away!

Sheknows.com

I responded to one of the things on HARO.  It was about alternatives to Halloween for children.  I was fun to talk with this lady and use ideas from my teaching experiences.  Check me out in the first paragraph!  http://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/819172/To-trick-or-treat-or-not

Updates for the week

So I've been working some long hours at my job.  That's why there haven't been any new posts lately.  I figured I'd stop by and add some quick updates.

* I shipped out my first order today!  I feel bad that it took me a little longer then I wanted to get them out, but my work schedule and the post office hours just didn't work well together.  Take a look at my first order on Etsy.  A custom order for 7 photo mats!

* The fudge I ordered from http://www.etsy.com/shop/sweetmelissasmn came today.  We got the peanut butter cup and cookies n cream fudge and the caramels.  They are really good and I have a feeling that we'll be back for more!

* The Christmas stockings I order for my husband and I came today.  Look at how cute they are!  They were custom made for us.  It was a fun process, although I do wish I had picked a darker green.  Anyway, they are still super cute!  Go to http://www.etsy.com/shop/Jennyfurdouglas to look at all her other designs.

Bettyconfidential.com

This website Help A Reporter Out (HARO) is awesome!  You sign up for it and each day they send you 3 or 4 email with links to all different things that reporters and writers are needing help on.  The other day I think I responded to like 10 of them.  One which was about the image that women give off when dressing trashy for Halloween.  I responded and the writer and I exchange quite a few messages on the topic.  I also did on on alternatives for Halloween.  I got to use my elementary education background and share a ton of educational ideas that could be done.  I also did one about decorating for Halloween other then orange and black and ideas for women's costumes.  I talked about decorating for fall instead with all the beautiful colors or using vintage inspired items to give a spooky feel.  As far as costumes I mention using fancy masks or dressing for a different era.  I'm a fan of the 80's.  I included lots of links from awesome Etsy sellers!  One that I responded to was in regards to an article already written.  It was about men afraid to ask women on out the normal dates.  I shared my opinion and some of my quotes are featured!  Check out pages 2 and 3 for my quotes.
